Sattahip authorities arrested 25-year-old Mr. Songkran Trongklang on charges of drug trafficking. The arrest followed an undercover operation conducted on February 10th by the Sattahip Police Station.

According to a statement released by Pol. Col. Thanapon Klinkasorn, Superintendent of the Sattahip Police Station, the operation stemmed from investigation into drug activities in both Sattahip and Ban Chang. Mr. Songkran was caught after selling 10 methamphetamine pills for 400 Baht in total to an undercover officer.

During the arrest, officers recovered the marked money used in the transaction and 220 additional methamphetamine pills hidden near the construction site where the deal occurred. Mr. Songkran reportedly confessed to purchasing the drugs online and selling them for personal profit.

Further investigations revealed Mr. Songkran had a prior arrest for bodily harm in March 2023 and was released on bail with an electronic monitoring bracelet still attached to his ankle. However, due to financial difficulties, he resorted to drug dealing again.

Following his arrest, Mr. Songkran was transferred to the Ban Chang Police Station for further legal proceedings.
