Pattaya Officials Conduct Inspections to Ensure Safety and Positive Image for Tourists

Pattaya —

In a proactive move to ensure safety and maintain a positive image for tourists, Mr. Weekit Manarojkit, the district chief of Banglamung, conducted surprise inspections of entertainment venues in Pattaya on Wednesday.

On February 7th, Mr. Weekit led a massive team of district officials, Pattaya police, and tourist police to patrol key areas like Walking Street in South Pattaya. This pedestrian zone attracted a large number of tourists, particularly young visitors, both from Thailand and abroad, Mr. Weekit said.

The focus of the operation was to ensure venue operators’ adherence to regulations regarding age restrictions, drug use, and weapons. Thankfully, no legal violations were identified during the inspection.

Mr. Weekit stated to The Pattaya News that he would launch similar surprise inspections on a regular basis to maintain Pattaya’s positive image as a tourist destination, guarantee safety for all visitors, and foster a sense of security. He highlighted the importance of these measures, especially in light of the upcoming Chinese New Year festivities, when a significant increase in tourist arrivals is expected.

He urged business owners to prioritize safety measures, including ensuring the proper functioning of fire extinguishers and maintaining clear escape routes. This would enable tourists to safely evacuate in case of any unforeseen incidents, the district chief stated.
