Update: 14-Year-Old Student Confesses to Killing Classmate Amid Alleged Bullying in Bangkok; Police Investigate Motive

At 3:50 PM, on January 29th, 2024, Khlong Tan police publicly revealed the results after interrogating a 14-year-old student who allegedly stabbed another student to death at a school in Phatthanakan 26, Suan Luang, Bangkok.

The 14-year-old student, whose name was withheld by the police under the law to protect minors, reportedly told the police that he held a grudge against the victim who allegedly bullied and took his lunch money regularly during lunch breaks at school. The victim allegedly physically harmed the 14-year-old student three to four times in two weeks, according to the police.

On the incident day, the 14-year-old student allegedly bought a pocket knife and committed a knife crime to the victim by stabbing the victim’s neck leaving him bleeding to death, according to the police.

Upon police interrogation of school teachers regarding the aforementioned bully, it was reported that they witnessed no bullying behavior toward the 14-year-old suspect. Furthermore, it was mandatory to randomly inspect for weapons in the morning, according to the school’s statement.

According to a report by the police, the 14-year-old suspect tested negative for a drug test, however, the 14-year-old student reportedly admitted that he tried marijuana once in September 2023.

Initially, Khlong Tan police would request a mental health diagnosis of the 14-year-old student suspect from psychologists to compile a case report for further legal processing.
