Bangkok Entertainment Venue Raided: Clio Pub Shut Down for Drugs and Presence of Minors

On January 27th, 2024, Bangna police officers raided an entertainment venue, Clio, in Soi Udomsuk 58, Bangna, Bangkok, after receiving a report from a concerned citizen of the pub allegedly providing services without valid permission and allowing minors and youths to take illicit substances.

Upon police investigation, more than 100 visitors were found enjoying the party. The police then ordered to freeze the activities before inspecting ID cards and conducting drug tests. As a result, four girls who were also minors aged between 17 to 19 and four adult men tested positive for drug tests.

Furthermore, there was a suspicious powder in plastic bags with plastic straws and bank notes found on the ground and a toilet, according to the Thai police. The police were able to confiscate 9 undisclosed items from suspects of what were believed to be illicit substances.

Initially, the police escorted the club manager, publicly identified only as Ms. Panathanicha, 35, and the four adult individuals who tested positive for drug tests to Bangna police station for further legal processing. The minors would be taken to their parents.
