Banglamung—

On January 19th, 2024, Banglamung police officers captured a suspect who allegedly stole a refrigerator in front of a rental room in Sukhumvit Pattaya Soi 75, Banglamung, Chonburi.

According to a report by the police, CCTV footage showed the moment when the suspect, publicly identified only as Mr. Wutthichai, 34, allegedly stole a refrigerator on January 18th.

The victim (whose name was withheld by the police) reported to Banglamung police that the refrigerator, worth 3,000 baht, was stolen in front of the victim’s electronics shop. The CCTV footage indicated that there were two people allegedly helping to lift the refrigerator before fleeing away, said the police.

Furthermore, the victim’s girlfriend told the police that Wutthichai was their former employer who rented a room next to their shop.

Upon investigation, the suspect was captured next to the shop. The suspect reportedly confessed that he allegedly asked an unidentified teen to help move the refrigerator, but the teen was not involved in the theft plot and thought he was just helping the owner of the fridge move it. The suspect sold the refrigerator for 2,000 baht and allegedly spent all the money, according to the police.

Initially, the police confiscated a motorbike sidecar used in the theft as evidence and escorted Wutthichai to the Banglamung police station for further legal processing.
