Thai Authorities Apprehend Alleged Masterminds in Chumphon Orchard Owner Murder Plot, Hid in Chonburi

On January 16th, 2024, the Thai Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) captured two suspects in Bang Lamung, Chonburi, according to an arrest warrant from Chumphon Provincial Court, after they allegedly planned a murder of a durian orchard owner in Chumphon in December of 2023.

According to a report by the CIB, in December 2023, the police received a report of a durian orchard owner, publicly identified only as Mr. Thawat, 54, being shot dead in Chumphon.
The police continually investigated and tracked down a group of suspects, including the masterminds who were publicly identified only as Mr. Pramote, 62, and Ms. Niyom, 59.


Pramote and Niyom allegedly planned the murder and arranged for a gunman, said the police. After the orchard owner was killed, the couple, Pramote and Niyom, fled to Banglamung to avoid police arrest, said the police.
Initially, the suspects reportedly denied the allegations before being escorted to the Mueang Chumphon police station for further legal process.
