Pattaya Joint Forces Raid Entertainment Venues in Anti-Drug Blitz

Pattaya —

Over 100 officers from the Provincial Police Region 2, Chonburi Provincial Police, and Pattaya Police, along with officials from the Office of Narcotics Control and Prevention Region 2, descended upon various entertainment venues in Pattaya early Wednesday morning, January 17th.

The operation, led by Deputy Commissioner of the Provincial Police Region 2, Pol. Col. Chatri Suksiri, aimed to combat and deter drug abuse within entertainment establishments.

The raid targeted nightclubs and bars frequented by young people and tourists, who are particularly vulnerable to drug abuse, according to relevant officials.

Officers carried out thorough searches and inspections, looking for evidence of illegal activities and substance abuse. The operation is part of a broader strategy to address the city’s drug problem and enhance public safety and confidence.

Beyond simply cracking down on illegal activity, Pol. Col. Chatri revealed that the raid also aimed to identify individuals struggling with drug abuse and connect them with necessary rehabilitation resources.

“By reducing the number of drug users, the operation hopes to decrease the prevalence of drug-related illnesses and mental health issues, ultimately benefiting both individuals and the community,” Pol. Col. Chatri stated.

Authorities urged the public to actively participate in the fight against drug abuse by reporting any suspicious activity or drug use to the 1386 hotline or contacting local police and administrative officers. Pol. Col. Chatri noted that there were no illegal findings during the operation and did not specifically name the venues visited.
