Chonburi —

Police in Chonburi’s Sattahip district responded to a distress call from residents of Yung Thong Village on Friday, January 5th, after a son reportedly assaulted his mother and caused extensive damage within their home.

Upon arrival, officers found the son, identified as 26-year-old Hassadayu, exhibiting signs of agitation and forcibly dragging his mother, 49-year-old Tadsamalee, out of the house. Ms. Tadsamalee, visibly shaken and injured, had only her underwear remaining after Hassadayu had torn off the rest of her clothes. The last name of the victim and suspect were withheld due to possible mental health issues on the part of the suspect.

Police managed to evacuate Ms. Tadsamalee and her younger son from the house and de-escalate the situation with Mr. Hassadayu. He initially resisted attempts to talk and physically prevented officers from entering the property. Considering the volatile nature of the situation and potential danger to everyone involved, authorities apprehended Mr. Tadsamalee and took him for a preliminary psychiatric evaluation and a drug test.

Speaking to the police, Ms. Tadsamalee revealed that her son was a good person as he neither smokes nor drinks alcohol. However, his mental state recently took a severe turn following a failed relationship with a young woman. The emotional and financial fallout from the breakup, despite family support, appears to have triggered a downward spiral leading to the violent episode.

Ms. Tadsamalee expressed gratitude to the Sattahip police for saving her family. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and Mr. Hassadayu will undergo further assessments to determine the best course of action for his mental health and future living arrangements.
