Kuwaiti Tourists and Thai Woman in Pattaya Suffer Burns While Trying to Light BBQ Fire

Pattaya —

Three people were injured while lighting up a barbeque fire at a residence in Pattaya early Thursday morning.

The rescue teams from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation responded to the fiery accident around 2 AM today, January 4th, at a residence in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Upon arrival, they found three people – a Thai woman and two Kuwaiti nationals, a male and a female – had sustained burns from the fire.

The rescuers found a barbecue grill and a charred paint thinner container at the scene. An initial inquiry with the injured Thai woman, Ms. Goong (alias), suggested that the victims were trying to light the grill using paint thinner, when the fire suddenly spread and burned three of them.

Ms. Goong explained that her friends had trouble igniting the barbecue, so they decided to pour paint thinner onto the grill, resulting in the accident.

All three victims were rushed to a local hospital. Their injuries were not serious.
