Chonburi —

An extremely large king cobra was caught on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024, at a golf course in the Ban Bueng district. The massive serpent sent shivers down the spines of golfers enjoying a morning round, causing them to flee in all directions.

Volunteer rescuers from the Silarattham Samakom Foundation sprang into action upon receiving reports of the slithering giant on Tuesday morning. Arriving at the unnamed golf course, the team found a black king cobra sprawled across the green.

Expertly executing a well-rehearsed routine, the rescuers swiftly cornered the serpent. They quickly subdued the powerful creature by using a snake clamp catcher to grab its head.

After measuring the king cobra, the rescuers were in awe to discover that the snake measured over 4 meters and 20 centimeters in length and weighed more than 12 kilograms. It required five grown adults to lift the creature.

The captured cobra is now in the care of the Silarattham Samakom Foundation, who will ensure its proper handling and eventual handover to relevant authorities for further assessment and care. The rescuers believed that the cobra was out and about due to hot weather.
