British Tourist Hit by Motorbike While Crossing Road in Pattaya

Pattaya —

A 52-year-old British tourist was struck by a Thai motorcyclist while crossing a road in Pattaya on Thursday evening, December 28th.

The incident occurred on Thepprasit Road, close to a PTT gas station, around 5:50 PM. Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation volunteers responded swiftly to the scene.

Upon arrival, the rescuers found the motorcyclist, identified as Ms. Suphansa Taengthong, 35, lying injured with a moderate injury on her left eyebrow and suffering from neck pain. Her Yamaha GT125 motorcycle, registered in Samut Prakan, bore the brunt of the impact.

The British tourist, identified only as Mr. Mei, sustained head injuries, lacerations, and body abrasions. Both individuals received initial medical attention at the scene before being transported to the hospital for further treatment.

According to Ms. Moey (alias), a 17-year-old passenger on the motorcycle who was not injured, she and Ms. Suphansa were returning home after visiting a nearby market when the foreign tourist stepped onto the road from the central island allegedly without looking properly, leaving Ms. Suphansa unable to stop in time.

Pattaya police arrived to document the scene and are investigating the incident using nearby surveillance footage. They are also planning to interview the tourist to hear his side of the story and if it differs from that of the witness riding with Ms. Suphansa.
