Thai Police Raid Empty Gambling Den in Nakhon Ratchasima, Apprehend Six Foreign Workers

Nakhon Ratchasima—

On December 22nd, 2023, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, the Thai Minister of the Interior, and Nakhon Ratchasima police officers launched a raid operation on a gambling den in Mueang, Nakhon Ratchasima, however, the establishment was empty.

The police found property in dispute such as cash, gambling tables, chip exchange equipment, cards, and other gambling-related equipment. Furthermore, the police took hold of six foreign individuals allegedly working at the gambling den.

According to a report by the police, the six foreign individuals were allegedly hired to work at the establishment for three days without acknowledgment that it was a gambling den.

The police assumed that the owner of the establishment was well-prepared and sabotaged the CCTV server. However, the police pledged to investigate further to hold the owner and involved individuals accountable for their crimes.

Anutin publicly revealed that this operation was a New Year policy to shut down gambling dens and other illegal activities. From the investigation, it was found that this establishment was a gambling den as there were gambling tables and equipment, however, no gambling activities were found. The owner might have been tipped off and sabotaged the evidence, said Anutin.
