Fire Quickly Contained at Vacant Sri Racha Rental Room

A swift response from local residents and firefighters prevented a potential disaster yesterday morning, as a fire broke out in a vacant rental room in Sri Racha district, Chonburi province.

The incident occurred at a rental room in the Bowin area of Sri Racha on December 20th. The fire department received a report of smoke billowing from a rental unit comprising of five rooms before rushing to the scene with two fire trucks.

Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke emanating from one of the unoccupied rooms. Acting quickly, they deployed hoses and managed to control the blaze within 10 minutes.

The fire, however, caused partial damage to the room’s wall. Thankfully, due to the swift action of firefighters and nearby residents, the flames did not spread further or injure anybody.

According to Mrs. Kanoksri Kampannak, the owner of the rental room, she noticed smoke coming from the side of the vacant room, where there were some old wooden structures. “The burning smell prompted me to open the door, and seeing the smoke, I immediately called nearby residents who alerted the authorities,” the property owner said.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
