Pattaya —

Pattaya City launched a comprehensive street cleaning initiative on December 19th to combat air pollution and reduce PM 2.5 dust levels.

The campaign kicked off at 9:00 AM on Sri Chan Road, a bustling thoroughfare stretching from the Yao Naklua Bridge to the New Naklua Market.

Armed with brooms, shovels, and hoses, the dedicated team of city workers diligently swept, washed, and sprayed water onto the roads. According to the city announcement, this cleaning aimed to remove dust and debris to minimize the impact of hazardous PM 2.5 particles on public health.

Alongside the street cleaning, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, who is responsible for the project, was actively engaged in sidewalk and leaf cleaning on traffic islands throughout the city of Pattaya. These efforts will be extended to various areas in the coming weeks to demonstrate the city administration’s commitment to a cleaner and healthier environment, the department reported.
