As the world prepares to bid farewell to 2023, Thailand is gearing up for an extraordinary celebration with its ‘Countdown 2024’ events. Organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), these festivities promise to dazzle visitors from across the globe.
The highlight of the celebration is the ‘Amazing Thailand Countdown 2024’ at Wat Arun in Bangkok, scheduled for December 31, 2023. This event will feature a spectacular New Year countdown fireworks display. Attendees can expect a blend of traditional and contemporary performances, including the iconic Khon masked dance, music concerts, an ancient-style food market, and a multimedia show.
The ‘Korat Winter Festival and Countdown 2024’ in Nakhon Ratchasima, from December 29-31, will also mark both the New Year and the 555th anniversary of Nakhon Ratchasima. Visitors will enjoy light-up decorations, music concerts, and various activities running from December 22, 2023, to January 2, 2024, including an amusement park, Christmas tree lighting, a floral garden, and a local market fair.
Besides these major events, TAT supports celebrations in various other locations. These include the ‘Amazing Chiang Mai Countdown 2024’ in Chiang Mai, ‘Khon Kaen Countdown 2024’ in Khon Kaen, ‘Nakhon Phanom Winter Festival’ along the Khong River, ‘Suphan Buri Festival 2024’ in Suphan Buri, and several more in Phuket, Hua Hin, Hat Yai, and Bangkok.
Bangkok will host several other notable countdown events, like the ‘Amazing Thailand Countdown 2024’ at ICONSIAM, ‘CentralWorld Bangkok Countdown 2024’, and ‘Siam Square Countdown 2024’. Other locations, including Pattaya, Kanchanaburi, Udon Thani, and Chiang Rai, are also preparing for vibrant celebrations.
