At 11:00 PM, on December 15th, 2023, Mr. Thawatchai Srithong, the Chonburi Province Governor, Pattaya City police officers, and relevant agencies with more than 100 individuals performed a field inspection on the entertainment district in Pattaya.

The extended nightlife services, allowing them to stay open until 4:00 AM, were given to entertainment venues with a legitimate license only in current entertainment zones and the nightlife service providers could sell alcoholic beverages up to 4:00 AM.
However, the entertainment service providers must have precautionary measures such as providing rest areas and hail-riding services to visitors after the closing time.
Thawatchai and relevant agencies patrolled Pattaya Street to give instructions and warnings about illegal acts such as selling illicit substances, carrying firearms, and not allowing prostitution, to entertainment service providers.
Furthermore, as a pilot province, the officials collected information to evaluate further and improve precautionary measures accordingly.
The main concern was about car accidents from DUIs and the relevant agencies worked proactively for the safety of the tourists. However, the entertainment service providers needed to cooperate as well, concluded Thawatchai.
