Huay Yai police are expediting their investigation into the deaths of a young woman found in a cassava field and a young man who was discovered hanging nearby in a baffling incident.

Now for our update:
On December 2nd, the body of a young woman with tattoos was found in a cassava field in Huay Yai, Chonburi province. The woman has not yet been identified, but police believe she may be a Laotian national who worked in a karaoke establishment in the area of Huay Pong district, Rayong province.
Earlier yesterday, December 5th, the body of Mr. Jiraphan “Arm” Chantharot, a 33-year-old Thai national from Nan province, was discovered hanging from a tree located just one kilometer away from the mysterious young woman’s body. Huay Yai police believe the two bodies might have been connected in some ways.
Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage in the Huay Pong area since the victim was believed to have left her residence on November 26th, 2023. They are also investigating the route believed to have been taken by the deceased, who might have ridden a motorcycle from Rayong to the location where her body was discovered.
The autopsy results of the deceased woman are still pending and may take 3-5 days, Huay Yai police reported. Initial reports, however, show that there are no signs of physical harm on her body. As for the fingerprint examination of the woman, initial checks on both the citizen registry and foreign national database show no matches.
Police are also trying to unlock Mr. Jiraphan’s phone in an attempt to find the possible link to the woman.
