Chiang Mai—
At 2:00 AM, on December 2nd, 2023, Pha Mueang military patrol squads encountered a caravan of drug smugglers and battled for more than 5 minutes in the Ban Muang Chum area, Fang, Chiang Mai.
After receiving a shooting report, at 11:00 AM, Fang police officers and relevant agencies were dispatched to the incident scene to investigate. The enforcement teams found four backpacks stashed with over 400,000 amphetamine pills left behind during the shootout.
During the investigation, the officers discovered suspected drug smugglers’ bloodstains that were assumed to be from the shootout. There was no additional report on the alleged drug smugglers’ identities or connection to other criminal agents.
Initially, Fang police officers confiscated the illicit substances and pledged to investigate further to hold involved individuals accountable for their crimes.
