Chonburi Husband Arrested After Threatening Wife and Child with Gun

A 53-year-old man was arrested after threatening his wife and child with a gun in the Khao Mai Kaeo area of Chonburi province.

The incident occurred at around 7:00 PM on December 3rd at a rental room in the Ban Phu Sai Village, Khao Mai Kaeo sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. The victim, Ms. A, 43, told police that her husband, Mr. Weeraphon, 53, last names of both withheld to protect the victim, had been drinking alcohol earlier in the day and had become intoxicated. He then started an argument with Ms. A, and allegedly locked their 1-year-old son in a room.

The child began crying loudly, and Mr. Weeraphon retrieved a gun and threatened to shoot him. Ms. A told police she was scared for her and her child’s safety, so she asked her neighbors for help. The neighbors then called the police, who swiftly arrived and arrested Mr. Weeraphon. They also seized the gun found in the room.

Mr. Weeraphon was taken to the Banglamung Police Station, where he is facing charges of assault and threats with a firearm.
