Samut Prakan—
At 3:30 PM, on December 4th, 2023, Thai traffic police pursued a truck fleeing from police inspection on Kanchanaphisek Expressway Road, Phra Pradaeng, Samut Prakan. It was reported that more than 20 vehicles were damaged and 4 police officers were injured.
Samrong Tai and Samut Prakan police officers chased after a truck on the main, crowded road as the driver indiscriminately seemed to hit every vehicle in front of him.
The police decided to shoot the truck’s wheels and the front windshield out, however, the driver sped up in an attempt to escape. After 20 minutes of pursuit, the police stopped the truck and took hold of the suspect.
Initially, the unidentified suspect reportedly said to the police that he was afraid of the gun sounds and was found with 3 amphetamine pills. The police then escorted him to a local police station to investigate further for legal processing.
It was unclear if he tested positive for usage of methamphetamine on top of possession, notes TPN media.
