Pattaya City Celebrates 45th Anniversary and Honors Founding Benefactor

Pattaya —

Pattaya City commemorated its 45th anniversary with a special event held at City Hall yesterday, November 29th. The event paid tribute to Mr. Prinya Chawalitthamrong, a generous benefactor who donated 10 rai of land to the city on November 23rd, 1980.

The event was attended by Mr. Poramase Ngampiches, Mayor of Pattaya, and Mr. Sontaya Khunpluem, former Pattaya Mayor. Also present were the city’s administrative team, members of the Pattaya City Council, Heads of various Pattaya city departments, and Directors of Pattaya’s 11 municipal schools.

The ceremony commenced with religious rituals and food offerings to nine Buddhist monks. Following these rituals, a wreath-laying ceremony was held to honor the bust of Mr. Prinya Chawalitthamrong, the donor of land that facilitated the construction of Pattaya City Hall. The former deputy interior minister first visited Pattaya in 1948 and played a pivotal role in transforming Pattaya from a small coastal village into the bustling tourist destination it is today.

Mr. Prinya, who passed away in 2005, demonstrated foresight and vision that significantly helped shape the city’s development and laid the foundation for its future growth.
