Thai Prime Minister Participates at Loi Krathong Festival in Chiang Mai

On November 28th, 2023, Mr. Srettha Thavisin, the Thai Prime Minister, and Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the leader of the Pheu Thai Party, participated in the Loi Krathong festival in Mueang Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai.

Yi Peng, or Loi Krathong Festival 2023, had Thai and international tourists in a massive number participating in this annual traditional festival. The festival was decorated with vivid hanging lanterns and held Thai cultural dances and fireworks displays.

The purpose of the festival was to preserve the Lanna traditional tourism in Chiang Mai. Furthermore, it would generate income for locals and stimulate microeconomics.

During the festival, there were 22 parades from Tha Phae Gate to the Chiang Mai Municipality Office with the association of the public and the private sectors, and foreign ambassadors. It was reported that executives from Tesla Company and other international guests were invited to the festival as well.
