Kanchanaburi Highway Police Seize Illegal Firearms and Truck, Driver Evades Arrest

Kanchanaburi—

On November 27th, 2023, Thai highway police confiscated two illegal firearms and a pickup truck at the Wat Wang Yai railway intersection road, in Sai Yok, Kanchanaburi. The pickup truck driver reportedly was still at large as of press time.

According to a report by the Thai highway police, the alleged pickup truck driver acted suspiciously, so the police signaled him to stop his vehicle, however, the driver sped up in an attempt to escape. Shortly after Thai highway police discovered that the suspected pickup truck was abandoned at a railway intersection and the driver was nowhere to be found.

The police officers searched the vehicle and found two illegal firearms, AK-47s, and other firearm-related objects, moreover, the suspect left his wallet behind and was reportedly identified only as Mr. Narongchai.

Previously, Narongchai reportedly held a criminal record of illegally smuggling foreign workers, fabricating fake license number plates, and narcotic substance offenses, said the Thai police.


Initially, Sai Yok police officers gathered evidence from the incident scene and pledged to conduct a further investigation to find and hold Narongchai accountable for his crimes.
