Pattaya Authorities to Ensure Safety and Orderliness During Loy Krathong Festival

Pattaya —

In a proactive move to ensure the safety and orderliness of today’s Loy Krathong festival, Pattaya police has mobilized a large squad to patrol the event areas around the city.

On November 27th, at 3:20 PM, Pattaya police led by Pol. Col. Thanapong Photithi, superintendent of Pattaya Police Station, led a team of 50 officers to oversee the preparations for the Loy Krathong festival. The event’s initiative aims to preserve Thai culture for the year 2023.

The police team, including investigators, traffic police, and officers on cars and motorcycles, will provide assistance, maintain security, and enforce regulations throughout the festival period. Pol. Col. Thanapong emphasized the importance of safeguarding both Jomtien Beach and Pattaya Beach zones, which are usually crowded during this annual event. Officers are specifically instructed to prevent potential violence and illegal practices in these zones.

“We will strictly enforce regulations, especially concerning the release of sky lanterns and the use of firecrackers and fireworks,” stated Pol. Col. Thanapong. “Initial warnings will be given, but if people won’t comply, decisive measures will be taken.”

As the atmosphere around Pattaya Beach, from central to southern Pattaya, buzzed with vendors reserving spaces for Loy Krathong sales since the morning, authorities stressed the need for both Thai and international tourists to enjoy the festival while adhering to safety regulations.
