At 11:00 PM, on November 25th, 2023, Wang Nam Khiao police officers received a mass shooting report at a wedding ceremony in Wang Nam Khiao, Nakhon Ratchasima. There were five casualties in total reported including the bride and groom.
The Wang Nam Khiao police officers were dispatched to the incident scene and found that in the wedding ceremony, four bodies were found and two people were injured and in serious condition.
The deceased were Mr. Jaturong Suksuk, a 29-year-old groom, Ms. Kanchana, a 38-year-old bride, Ms. Karnida Manataor, a 37-year-old bride’s sister, Mrs. Kingthong Klajorho, a 60-year-old mother of the bride, and Mr. Thong Nonkhunthod, a 50-year-old rescue volunteer who was later pronounced dead at the Wang Nam Khiao hospital.
Mr. Bamrung Chaterarat, 28, was shot during the tragic incident and was urgently transferred to the Wang Nam Khiao Hospital.
According to the report from the Wang Nam Khiao police officers, an unidentified witness testified that before the shooting incident, guests were celebrating the wedding ceremony, however, the groom and the bride had a personal argument. Jaturong, the groom, was allegedly drunk and destroyed his surroundings.
Shortly after, Jaturong reportedly grabbed his 9 mm firearm from his vehicle and shot the bride and other aforementioned guests to death before taking his own life, said the unidentified witness to the police officers.
The unidentified witness stated to the police that Jaturong was a former military official who lost his right leg in a train accident. He was also a disabled aquatic athlete of the Thai national team.
Initially, Wang Nam Khiao police officers gathered evidence from the crime scene and further investigated the case to determine the exact cause of the incident.
