Musician Allegedly Overcharged for Motorcycle Fare at Pattaya Fireworks Festival

Pattaya—

At 11:30 PM, on November 24th, 2023, Thai reporters publicly revealed that a musician was allegedly overcharged for a motorcycle fare during the International Fireworks Festival 2023 in Pattaya, Chonburi.

According to the report from the Thai media, Mr. Chumpol Meesri, a 35-year-old musician, filed a complaint report to the Pattaya police officers as he was reportedly overcharged a motorcycle fare while heading to the Pattaya International Fireworks Festival 2023.

Chumpol reportedly stated to the Pattaya police officers that at 7:00 PM, he used a motorcycle taxi service from a part of Pattaya to Pattaya Beach with a total distance of 8 kilometers. When asked for the fare, the motorcycle rider allegedly charged him 800 baht and another 800 baht for two motorcycle taxi services connecting with each other.

Chumpol then asked about the logic behind the unreasonable price, and the motorcycle rider reportedly said that it was a normal price during the festival.
Furthermore, Chumpol voiced his irritation at the unreasonable fares and asked relevant agencies to take serious action as he might not be the only one.
