Pattaya —
Pattaya authorities took serious action to address the issue of a homeless couple who have been reportedly engaging in disruptive behavior, intimidating locals with weapons, and engaging in drug abuse on Jomtien Beach.
Mr. Phatthana Boonsawas, former deputy mayor of Pattaya, revealed on Thursday, November 23rd, that he received multiple complaints from residents in the vicinity of Jomtien Beach regarding the disturbing conduct of one unidentified homeless couple.
The two individuals have been causing disruptions in the area by intimidating residents and tourists and also engaging in drug abuse, according to the complaints. Mr. Phatthana mentioned that the couple’s actions have caused fear and unease among the local community and tarnished the reputation of Jomtien Beach as a safe tourist destination.
Upon receiving the complaints, Mr. Phatthana coordinated with Pattaya police, who were quickly able to locate the couple. The authorities encountered them on Jomtien Beach yesterday, November 23rd, 2023, and found drug paraphernalia in their possession. It was understood that the suspects were unable to speak coherently, so they were taken to the Pattaya Police Station for legal proceedings.
Mr. Phatthana recommended that residents immediately report to relevant authorities any problems that are affecting them and tourists to preserve the city’s world-class safe tourism image.
