At 5:00 PM (San Francisco local time), on November 17th, 2023, Mr. Srettha Thavisin, the Thai Prime Minister, gave a speech and advice to the Thai community in the USA.
During the speech, Srettha stated that Thailand remains fully committed to the multilateral trading system and APEC amid global uncertainty.
For climate change, Bangkok has initiated a Bio-Circular-Green Economy with more than 280 projects and Srettha will further hold a meeting on the Sustainable Future Forum to stimulate the green economy.
Having the World Trade Organization as a center, trade and investment will grow exponentially and Thailand continually supports the Free Trade Agreements and Regional Trading Agreements (FTAAP) to advance regional economic integration.
Moreover, Thailand will further seek and proactively negotiate other FTAs.
To connect the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, Thailand will advance the Land Bridge mega project and further policies to stimulate tourism and support the APEC Business Travel Card for Micro-, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs).
Srettha also gave advice to Thai college students and others in the USA. He publicly stated that his two sons work in a foreign country, because admittedly, there is no better job opportunity in Thailand, according to Srettha. The Thai government actively seeks talented individuals to support the country. Srettha seeks to make a change for a better life as a reason he signed up for politics.
