Motorcyclists Injured in Pattaya, Say Dark Road Caused the Accident

Pattaya —

Two motorcyclists were injured in a crash early yesterday morning in Pattaya Soi 11. The rider claimed that the road was too dark, and it caused the accident.

At 01:00 AM on November 19th, the Pattaya Police Station received a report of a motorcycle accident with injuries on Soi 11. After receiving the report, emergency response teams rushed to the scene to assess the situation.

At the accident site, a Honda Zoomer-X motorcycle was found overturned and damaged in the middle of the road. The injured person was identified as Ms. Supaporn, 24 (surname withheld), the driver of the motorcycle. She was lying on the road with moderate injuries and pain in her left leg. Emergency personnel used leg splints and basic first aid before transporting her to the hospital.

The other party involved was riding a Honda PCX motorcycle, which had damage to the front. The driver, Mr. Korakot, 21 (surname withheld), suffered slight injuries around his body and waited for assistance at the scene.

Upon The Pattaya News interviewing Mr. Korakot, it was revealed that according to him he was traveling straight towards the Pattaya Klang intersection. He alleged that the area was dark and lacked sufficient street lighting, making it difficult to see Ms. Supaporn, who was emerging from Soi Chaloem Phra Kiat 11. This lack of visibility led to the collision and the subsequent injuries, Mr. Korakot said.

In a message to relevant authorities, Mr. Korakot pleaded that the thoroughfare should have more lights or authorities should repair any malfunctioning lights to prevent accidents in the future.
