First Official Chinese Freight Train Via Laos Arrives in Thailand, Historic Milestone in Cross-Border Rail Transport

At 10:00 AM, on November 17th, 2023, the Chinese government and Thai private sectors jointly released a Chinese freight train with 35 cargo containers.

The final destination of the freight train is the Map Ta Phut railway station in Rayong, Thailand. The freight train will travel through Laos and Thailand before heading to the Map Ta Phut railway station, approximately 3-4 days travel time.

This is a historic moment of the first official rail freight transport from China to Thailand via Laos.
Within December 2023, the Thai government will further transport various agricultural products to the Chengdu railway station, China, and other countries in Europe such as Russia, Poland, Belgium, and Germany.
