Khlong Toei Shooting Update: Police Pursue Suspects as Schools Intensify Security Measures

Bangkok—

At 12:15 PM, on November 13th, 2023, Pol. Col. Wittawat Chinkham, the acting Commander of the 5th Precinct, engaged in a meeting on a notorious case, a shooting incident between two rival institutes on November 11th, leading to one casualty and one serious injury in Khlong Toei, Bangkok.

Pol. Col. Wittawat publicly stated about the case process that police officers are gathering evidence to issue an arrest warrant. Currently, the police officers have the motorcycle’s plate number and are inspecting local CCTV to track down an escape route.

An assumption about a previous quarrel between two educational institutes that led to the tragic incident is still a subject matter in the case, said Pol. Col. Wittawat.

On the same day, school administrators from the Sacred Heart Convent School and students’ parents went to the incident scene to pay respect to Ms. Sirada Sinprasert, a teacher who lost her life due to the shooting incident.


Tha Ruea and Thung Maha Mek police officers along with the Sacred Heart Convent school raised the level of security in the school vicinity by deploying police officers to cope with any violent situations that may occur.

The security measures include setting up a checkpoint at the only school entrance with a thorough screening procedure and using stickers for school personnel’s vehicles and QR codes. Police officers will also be stationed in the school’s vicinity from 6 AM to 5 PM.

Furthermore, the Thung Maha Mek police officers held a seminar to educate students on basic lessons to protect themselves from danger.
