Pattaya —

A tangle of overhead cables in an alley in Pattaya burst into flames, causing a temporary blackout this morning.

City workers raced to restore power in Soi Boonsamphan 9, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province, after a bunch of overhead cables suddenly caught fire and resulted in a widespread power outage.

The incident reportedly took place today, November 7th, prompting the Pattaya fire department to rush to the scene. They used water to quickly quell the raging fire before it could spread to nearby houses.

The fire sent a large plume of thick black smoke into the air, as well as leaving several incinerated wires dangling in the alley.

City workers were cleaning up the damaged cables as of press time, while specialists were examining the cause of the incident.
