Banglamung Police Discover Gun on Suspicious Motorcylist

Chonburi —

In a surprising turn of events, traffic police officers from the Banglamung police station uncovered a loaded homemade gun during a search of a motorcyclist they found suspicious.

The incident transpired at 2:15 AM on November 4th in Chonburi province’s Banglamung district. According to Pol. Lt. Anirut Bangsri, the deputy inspector of the Banglamung Police Station, a Thai man named Suriya Yuenyaw was stopped at a police checkpoint on Sukhumvit Road, en route to Pattaya. The reason for the stop was for the lack of a license plate on his motorbike.

According to his ID card, 30-year-old Anirut was from Thailand’s northeastern province of Buriram. Given his peculiar behavior and apparent signs of inebriation, Pol. Lt. Anirut made the decision to conduct a search of his body. This act then led to the discovery of the unexpected firearm, a .32 homemade pistol loaded with one bullet.

The illicit weapon was concealed in the right front pocket of the suspect’s long jeans. Consequently, he was taken into custody for further investigation and proceedings.

According to Pol. Lt. Anirut, the suspect claimed that he obtained the gun from some unidentified friends at work. However, he was eventually charged with possessing a firearm and bullets without a permit, as well as carrying these weapons illegally in public.
