Burmese Motorcyclist Dies After Getting Run Over by 10-Wheeler in Chonburi

Chonburi —

A 10-wheeler carrying an excavator ran over a Burmese motorcyclist and killed him in the Huay Yai area on Monday morning, October 23rd.

The accident, reported to Huay Yai police at 8 AM, happened on a road leading to the Ban Thung Sa Kaeo village in Banglamung district, Chonburi province.

Upon arrival, emergency responders found the victim, who couldn’t be identified, lying deceased on the road. He was later only identified to be a Burmese national aged between 20-30 years old. The man had suffered fatal head injuries. His black/blue motorbike was found fallen nearby with significant damage.

According to the pickup truck driver Mr. Adisak Chumthok, 29, the victim was driving at high speed and attempted to overtake his vehicle. However, the victim failed to notice a 10-wheeler truck carrying an excavator coming from the opposite direction.

In an attempt to avoid a collision, the victim abruptly applied the brakes, causing his motorcycle to lose balance and topple over. The motorcycle collided with Mr. Adisak’s pickup truck and was subsequently propelled underneath the oncoming truck, resulting in a fatal accident.

The 10-wheeler driver was identified as Mr. Wuttichai Chamat, 31. He and Mr. Adisak were summoned to the Huay Yai Police Station for further interrogation.

As of press time, however, it was unclear if any legal charges would take place.
