Elderly British Man Falls to His Death from Pattaya Condo

Pattaya —

This morning, October 20th, an 89-year-old British man was discovered deceased on the ground floor of a condo building in Soi Pratumnak 4, Pattaya, after falling from the fifth floor.

The name of the condo has been withheld by The Pattaya News pending Pattaya police’s ongoing investigation. The incident was reported to police at 6:06 AM, prompting them and a rescue team to rush to the incident scene located in the Nongprue area of Banglamung district, Chonburi province.

At the 15-storey condo, the body of a British male, whose name has been withheld as per editorial standard policy pending notification of his family, was found on the floor beside a swimming pool. The deceased, aged 89, had suffered grievous injuries. Wearing only underwear, the victim had bandages wrapped around his head and right leg. The body was transferred to a local hospital.

Upon inspecting the room of the deceased on the fifth floor, Pattaya police found no signs of struggle or property being tampered with. 40-year-old condo clerk Mr. Sornsak Sopha told police that a resident had informed him there was a person falling from the fifth floor. Upon receiving the information, Mr. Sornsak promptly rushed to the scene, only to find that the victim had already passed away by the pool.

Mr. Anansit Suttaso, 57, the caretaker of the deceased, revealed that the deceased had been suffering from a chronic disease for several years. They had to visit the doctor every evening. The deceased had previously expressed a desire to die, as he missed his beloved partner who had passed away three years ago. Mr. Anansit said he never anticipated that the victim would consider ending his own life in this manner.

Pattaya police believe that the victim purposely jumped from his room to take his own life. However, they would review CCTV footage to find out the exact motive behind the incident. His embassy would also be informed.
