Thai Police Introduce New Reflective Vests for Enhanced Visibility in Tourist Areas

National —

Thai police with new reflective vests would be arranged in popular tourist areas for the safety of Thai citizens and foreign tourists.

On October 16th, 2023, Pol. Gen. Torsak Sukvimol, the commissioner general of the Royal Thai Police, arranged new police reflective vests for Crime Suppression Division (CSD) officers, tourist police officers, and relevant officers in popular tourist areas.

Pol. Gen. Torsak publicly stated that the new yellowish-green reflective vests were notable for visibility for Thai citizens and foreign tourists with 200-500 meters in sight distance. It was universally arranged in many countries in Europe to wear over police uniforms.

However, a trial process would take place for 3 months and after a survey of satisfaction from both citizens and tourists, the relevant officials would improve the quality accordingly.

The new police vest was one of the new Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin policies to enhance the tourism image in Thailand and elevate the level of security in life and property for citizens and tourists.
