Alleged Repeat Offender Arrested for Theft and Possession of Stolen Goods in Bangkok

Bangkok—

On October 17th, 2023, Khlong Tan Police officers captured an alleged suspect who was later identified as Mr. Anek Thinwilai, 39-years-old, for stealing or receiving stolen property, at his rental room, in Phra Khanong, Bangkok.

Khlong Tan Police officers received a report from a victim that an alleged thief had stolen valuable property at the victim’s residence, in Watthana, Bangkok. The investigative team was dispatched to the incident scene to gather evidence from local CCTVs.
During the investigation, the police officers discovered Anek’s location and found a car used to steal the victim’s property. Meanwhile, Anek was about to leave his own room, when police officers showed up at his door and took hold of him.

Anek was escorted to the Khlong Tan Police Station and held on a long list of criminal records on theft-related cases since 2011. After being released from jail, Anek had been stealing a few times before being arrested again.

Anek reportedly confessed his wrongdoings in that he stole things from victims’ houses in many areas in Bangkok before selling those properties in dispute to his friends. Anek further reportedly said that he spent the money on rent and illicit drugs.

Khlong Tan Police officers would perform further legal proceedings to hold the alleged suspect for accountable crimes.
