Samui Island –

A Swedish “businessman” was found with four guns and more than 200 bullets at a house on Samui Island, say Thai police.

On Tuesday (October 10th) a team from the Royal Thai Immigration Bureau with a search warrant searched a house which belonged to a foreigner they identified only as MR. ADAM, 33, a Swedish national in Soi Khao Phra, Bo Phut sub-district. Police found three handguns, a rifle, and more than 200 bullets. He was then taken to the Bo Phut Police Station.

Mr. Adam reportedly admitted to Thai police that he likes to collect guns and enjoys shooting. He said he ordered the guns and bullets online and some guns were borrowed from his friends.

The Surat Thani Immigration Chief Colonel Suppakorn Pankosol stated to the Thai press, “We found that these guns and bullets were ordered online from the northeast of Thailand. Mr. Adam used these guns to practice shooting at a shooting range on Samui Island. He also posted on social media that he likes to collect guns. Many of his online posts also seemed to threaten other foreigners. Mr. Adam has fitness businesses and has stayed in Thailand for a long time.”

“Mr. Adam is facing charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition,” Colonel Suppakorn added.

It was unknown if Mr. Adam had been granted bail as of press time or if he had retained the services of an attorney.
