The wanted former mayor of Pattaya and former Thai Minister of Culture Mr. Itthiphol Khunpluem was arrested at Suvarnabhumi Airport after arriving in Thailand from Cambodia.

At 10:00 A.M. on Monday (October 9th) Immigration Officers at the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Samut Prakan arrested Mr. Itthiphol after he arrived from Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He was taken to the Office of the Attorney General Region 2 for his Corruption Case.
Mr. Itthiphol said to the press with a confident smile ‘I have come back to Thailand with my lawyer following the issuing of the arrest warrant.’ He did not make any other comment.
Itthiphol is accused of alleged corruption related charges connected with the Waterfront Condo project in Pattaya, a long standing white elephant at Bali Hai Pier.
Mr. Khunplume was later released on bail for about 120,000 baht and a promise to appear on court on October 31st.
