Pattaya Third Road Sinkhole Incident Prompts Safety Warning

Pattaya —

A relatively small sinkhole occurred on Pattaya Third Road, prompting a safety alert.

A small section of Pattaya Third Road, which connects Central Pattaya to North Pattaya near an intersection, collapsed on October 7th, prompting officials to conduct an immediate inspection.

Although the hole is relatively small, it has created cracks extending over 3 meters, said city officials. City officials said the depression was a sinkhole due to a cavity beneath the road versus a pothole, which is normally caused by road surface damage.

As a precaution, officials placed traffic cones and warning signs around the hole to prevent accidents among road users.

Relevant agencies will later make necessary repairs to the road, officials stated.
