Cambodian Man Hacks Sattahip Boat Worker with Knife

A Cambodian man was arrested today, October 6th, after he hacked his Thai co-worker’s hand with a knife, resulting in moderate injuries. The arrested man claimed that the Thai man had used offensive language to boss him around, causing him to become angry.

The suspect has been identified as 47-year-old Mr. Lam But of Cambodian nationality. The victim, on the other hand, is a Thai boat crew member named Mr. Apisak Khaop aged 26. Both the suspect and the victim are co-workers laboring on the fishing boat named “Chokkrattanaprida” operating in the Sattahip district, Chonburi province.

The attack occurred at around 9 AM today. Sattahip Police rushed to investigate the scene and found Mr. Apisak had suffered moderate wounds to his right eyebrow and right wrist. First aid was administered at the scene by rescue workers before the victim was transferred to a nearby hospital.

The suspect, Mr. Lam, was immediately arrested at the scene. He confessed to police that he had used a kitchen knife to attack Mr. Apisak before throwing the weapon into the sea.

The Cambodian man went on to say that he was cross at the victim who had supposedly been bossing him around and using vulgar language. He mentioned that his frustration led him to draw a knife and attack the victim. Fortunately, other coworkers were able to intervene and prevent him from causing serious harm to the victim.

Police took Mr. Lam to a local police station to charge him for causing harm and injury to others.
