Burmese Workers’ Brawl Resulting in Serious Throat Injury to Unsuspecting Sri Racha Man

A Thai man sustained a serious cut to his throat during a public brawl involving Burmese workers in the Sri Racha district. The incident transpired on Sunday night, October 1st, with the suspects remaining free as of the time of reporting.

30-year-old Chalermsak Sona had suffered a life-threatening cut to his throat when the rescue workers found him at 11:40 PM on Sunday, near a condominium complex in the Bowin sub-district of Sri Racha district, Chonburi province.

According to rescuers, the Thai man was in a critical condition due to profuse bleeding from a wound around his neck. He was rushed to Laem Chabang Hospital immediately after receiving preliminary medical aid.

Upon questioning individuals in the vicinity, local media were told that the victim was drinking beer near the condominium. After a while, witnesses heard a loud commotion and saw the victim wobbling towards them while holding his bloodied neck.

The victim sought help from the witnesses who subsequently called rescue workers for him.

Local media further reported that there was a group of Burmese workers who were seen wielding knives and chasing each other around the condominium at the time of the incident.

The media said the injured victim may have been accidentally caught in the midst of this altercation, which led to him being cut in the throat. The nature of the fight is not known.

Sri Racha Police documented the scene, collected evidence, and interviewed witnesses at the incident location in order to track down the suspects who remain at large as of press time.

Meanwhile, the current condition of the injured Thai man is not available.
