Sedan Flips Over in Front of Pattaya Central Bypass Tunnel

A sedan reportedly cut off a tour bus and flipped over in front of the Sukhumvit-Central road bypass tunnel in Pattaya on Sunday evening, October 1st.

Mr. Somchok Meechong, a 45-year-old tour bus driver, informed Thai media that he was driving his bus in the right lane, preparing to enter the tunnel, when a sedan suddenly swerved into his lane, causing a collision.

The accident was reported to Sawang Boriboon rescue services at around 5:30 PM on October 1st. It occurred at the front of the Sukhumvit-Central roads bypass tunnel in Pattaya, Banglamung district, Chonburi province.

Bus driver Mr. Somchok explained that his bus collided with the sedan, resulting in the sedan overturning onto its roof. Fortunately, the tour bus had no passengers on board at the time of the accident, and sustained only minor damage to the left front side.

Meanwhile, the unidentified driver of the sedan and his passenger were able to safely claw out of the vehicle unharmed. They sustained no injuries.

The sedan driver reportedly did not make a statement regarding the accident. Pattaya Police documented the accident scene for evidence, and the overturned car was subsequently cleared to resume traffic. Police would later summon both parties for questioning.
