Thai Police Crack Down on Counterfeit Products Worth Over 15 Million Baht

Fake brand-name products and smuggled goods on Facebook pages using the name “KING POWER” were shut down by Thai police, confiscating more than 15 million baht.

On September 29th, 2023, Pol. Col. Virapong Homhuan and a police squad conducted extensive searches for counterfeit products and smuggled goods in 7 locations from 3 provinces: Bangkok, Samut Prakan, and Samut Sakhon. As a result, there were counterfeit products found from famous brands such as perfume, handbags, and shoes.


The King Power International Group filed a complaint to competent officials regarding counterfeit products distributed in Bangkok and nearby areas. There were 17 Facebook pages with the name “KING POWER” which tricked people into purchasing fake brand-name products and smuggled goods. During the investigation, the police squad located storehouses and gathered evidence before confiscating property in dispute of more than 35,000 units, with an estimated value exceeding 15 million baht.

The police officers said that they would conduct a further investigation and gather evidence to hold involved individuals accountable.
