Mr. Anant Tribat, a 24-year-old man from Sakon Nakhon province, and his unidentified girlfriend were rescued from their black Honda Civic sedan that had veered off Highway 331 and fallen into the undergrowth by the roadside in the Huay Yai sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province.

The accident transpired at 10:06 PM on Sunday, September 24th. The couple were trapped inside their car before the rescue team came to their aid. Mr. Anant, the driver, was completely unharmed by the mishap, while his girlfriend sustained minor bruises on her body.

According to Mr. Anant’s statement, he and his girlfriend were travelling from Amnatcharoen to Khao Chi Chan. However, due to insufficient rest, he began to feel drowsy.

Mr. Anant said he briefly stopped to rest and then continued driving, thinking he would be fine. Eventually, he started to feel increasingly drowsy until he fell asleep at the wheel.

Personally, Mr. Anant believed that it was due to the sacred power of a Buddhist amulet from his hometown temple in Sakon Nakhon, which he was wearing, that helped him and his girlfriend survive the accident basically unscathed.
