Pattaya —

The City of Pattaya is scheduled to host the popular charity event, “Loma Run on The Beach”, on Jomtien Beach on September 24th.

Loma means dolphin in the Thai language, notes The Pattaya News, which is also the mascot and symbol of Pattaya.

Pattaya Deputy Mayor Kritsana Boonsawat announced the event on September 7th, saying proceeds after expenses from the charity run will go to the Human Help Network Thailand Foundation and to support social welfare projects to assist underprivileged patients at Pattaya Hospital.

Furthermore, the event will serve as a stimulation for tourism, in line with the city’s landscape improvements on Jomtien Beach, he said.

At the 21-kilometer half-marathon, the Loma Run departs at 5 AM on September 24th, stretching from the Dongtan Beach police box along Jomtien Beach.

The run is divided into three distances: 21 kilometers, 10 kilometers, and 5 kilometers. Currently, there are over 1,700 registered participants for all distances, although the registration is unfortunately already close, Deputy Mayor Kritsana said.

Participants should go receive their shirts and bibs at Jomtien Palm Beach Hotel, on Saturday, September 23rd, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. For more information go to: LOMA RUN On The Beach 2023.

The run is primarily in the Jomtien Beach area and may see traffic delays and closures during the race times.
