A 45-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in a traffic accident with a pickup truck on Pornprapanimit Road Friday night, September 15th. The truck driver claimed the motorcyclist abruptly crossed traffic lanes and cut him off.
Sawang Boriboon emergency responders and The Pattaya News rushed to the accident site in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi, to find the victim of Thai nationality lying motionlessly on the road.
45-year-old Mr. Narong Buptay was found to be breathing only faintly, having suffered serious injuries. Rescuers administered crucial CPR procedures to him before swiftly transporting him to a local hospital for further care. His crash-damaged black Honda Click motorbike was found at the accident site, along with a black Toyota Revo pickup truck.
The Pattaya News interviewed 43-year-old Mr. Sirimongkol Wongcharoen, the truck driver involved in the accident. Mr. Wongcharoen alleged that he was returning home from a nearby market when Narong suddenly crossed into his lane and cut him off, resulting in a collision.
Mr. Theerapun Suksai, a 29-year-old eyewitness to the mishap, recounted that while he was sitting in front of his house having a meal, he observed the motorcyclist, Narong, driving at high speed. Narong then cut into the Mr. Wongcharoen’s lane and was struck.
Pattaya Police were examining CCTV cameras at the accident scene to establish the exact cause of the accident. It was unclear if any legal action would take place as of press time.
