Pattaya —

A shipyard owner of Thai nationality was crushed to death when his tractor overturned on Jomtien Beach this morning, September 7th. The man was trying to haul a speedboat out of the sea with his tractor.

The tragedy unfolded around 7 AM today, on Jomtien Beach at the boat ramp near Jomtien Soi 11. Pattaya Police and a rescue team rushed to the scene to find the victim, Mr. Manit Jaiman, 73, already dead on the beach, surrounded by his relatives.

Upon inspection, the police found two stationary tractors, each with a horsepower of 6,600 on the beach, along with a speedboat floating in the sea.

The deceased’s relatives and eyewitnesses to the accident, whose names were not released to the press, told Pattaya Police that Mr. Manit, a shipyard owner, was trying to haul his speed boat out of the sea with a tractor, when the wheel of his vehicle got stuck in the sand, prompting another person to bring another tractor to help him pull it out.

However, at that moment, the deceased’s tractor lost balance and flipped over to the side, crushing the victim. His relatives hurried to help and freed him from the tractor, but he passed away shortly after due to severe injuries.

Pol. Lt. Col. Tatchasak Jiratikulchai, an investigator, invited the relatives to provide their testimonies at the police station. The body was transferred to Banglamung Hospital to await funeral arrangements.
