Pattaya Holds Two Successful Sport Events

Pattaya —

Pattaya just hosted two successful sport competitions during the past week, including the Ju-Jitsu Word Cup Beach 2023 and the Sepak Takraw Pattaya Cup 20th Edition.

The Ju-Jitsu World Cup Beach Event 2023, a dynamic self-defense martial arts competition, made a splash at Jomtien Beach on September 2nd. Pattaya, in collaboration with the Thai Ju-Jitsu Sports Association, orchestrated this exhilarating sports event, which thrilled audiences until September 3rd, right on the picturesque shores of Jomtien Beach.

Ju-Jitsu is a martial art with its origins in Japan, focusing on combat techniques such as throws, joint locks, kicks, and grappling. The Thai Ju-Jitsu Sports Association earned the honor from the International Ju-Jitsu Federation to host this esteemed sport extravaganza.

This event aimed to promote Ju-Jitsu and support Thai athletes in honing their skills and accumulating points for future international competitions. The event garnered massive attention from both Thai and international athletes alike.

Meanwhile, the grand finale of the “Sepak Takraw Pattaya Cup 20th Edition” just wrapped up yesterday, with a dazzling total prize purse exceeding over 190,000 baht. On the 3rd of September, Mr. Praiwan Aromchuen, Deputy Chairman of the Pattaya City Council, took center stage as the chairman presiding over the award presentation ceremony and the ceremonial curtain call of the 20th Sepak Takraw Pattaya Cup.

Athletes, hundreds of participants, and representatives from the media lent their vibrant presence to this amazing event, held at the Pattaya City School 7 gymnasium in the Nongprue sub-district.

The 20th Annual Sepak Takraw Pattaya Cup, which unfolded from August 31st to September 3rd, served as a beacon of health and wellness promotion for the youth in Thailand. With a whopping 87 teams in contention, including Sepak Takraw squads from Malaysia and South Korea, this event added vibrant hues to this year’s sporting tapestry in Pattaya.
