Pattaya Beach Patrol Uncovers Unexpected Find

Pattaya —

Pattaya Police and Banglamung administrative officials inspected Pattaya Beach at midnight today and arrested two Thai men for secretly carrying weapons inside their car.

In a late-night operation, officers from the Banglamung District Administration and Pattaya Police Station, comprising over 30 personnel, conducted an extensive inspection at Pattaya Beach with an aim to bolster security and ensure the safety of tourists in the area. They also aimed to ensure minors were not on the beach, a new and controversial rule as we reported here.

During a random inspection, two men exhibiting suspicious behavior were found on the beach in front of the Hard Rock Hotel. Law enforcement requested a body search, but no illegal items were found on them. However, the authorities requested to inspect their white Isuzu pickup truck, as the men looked suspicious and nervous.

Inside the vehicle, a homemade pistol along with two rounds of ammunition and two small knives were discovered. Furthermore, two ecstasy pills were found in a blue bag. Law enforcement seized and apprehended Mr. Komchan Innuay, 24, and Mr. Nattaphon Klairaya for possession of illegal substances.

When questioned, Mr. Komchan stated that it was his day off from construction work, so he had brought his friend for a leisure trip to Pattaya Beach. However, they were apprehended by the authorities before they could do anything. He admitted that the firearms, knives, and ecstasy pills found were all his belongings and that Mr. Nattaphon just tagged along with him. The suspects claimed the items would never be used in any violent assaults and they were just collectors of weapons, but police were skeptical of these claims.

Law enforcement then brought Mr. Komchan for a drug test, which returned positive for substance abuse. He was subsequently charged with unauthorized possession of firearms and ammunition in public areas and carrying illegal substances.
